Honda has made a fantastic recovery from last year, a year that devastated their sales quota because of the tsunami and earthquakes.  Based in the busy city of Tokyo, the Honda Motor Co. was able to quadruple earnings for their 2nd fiscal quarter over last years 2nd quarter.

The auto manufacturing company reported a quarter profit of $1.7 billion, and increased sales worldwide.  Sales actually doubled in Japan and North America, with a total unit sales of 849,000 across the globe.  Last year’s 2nd quarter saw a sales report of 458,000.  Their goal of $6 billion in profit for the entire fiscal year is quite feasible, even though it require twice as many unit sales over the last fiscal year.

A lot of the big numbers come towards the end of the year when the next year’s models are released.  We should see a new Honda Civic, which is one of the best-selling vehicles in the world.  Honda is planning several upgrades and redesigns for the 2013 model vehicles, which will also help continue the trend of high sales.
